xvi, 319pp - Undated, but The National Library of Wales and the libraries at Oxford University estimate 1923. Translated by H. I. Woolf. One of Routledge's "Broadway Translations" series. Just as he did in Candide, he treated the problem of evil in this book (originally published in 1747). Book includes: "Zadig: or Destiny". "Micromegas", "Story of a Good Brahmin", "The Simple Soul", and "The Princess of Babylon". Covers (red cloth with black titles to spine) are clean and unmarked with only the slightest wear. Textblock clean, tight except for foxing (mostly to page edges. DJ (not price-clipped) is edgeworn with some foxing and some sunning to spine.
