127pp inc b&w frontis and 30 other b&w photos - Mrs Russell was translator of Dr Albert Schweitzer's (to whom this book is dedicated) books African Notebook and Indian Thought And Its Development and revised his Civilization and Ethics (3rd ed). In her own right, she was author this and The Path to Reconstruction: a Brief Introduction to Albert Schweitzer's Philosophy of Civilisation and several others. She had been enormously fond of various animals from early childhood and at least one monkey became "my best friend". Covers (grey cloth with scarlet titles to front board and spine) are soiled and edgeworn with bumped corners. Textblock is clean and tight.
