287pp inc index and a plethora of colour illustrations by Philippa Scott - This is Vol I of the three volumes eventually published. Scott, son of the Antarctic explorer, by the mid '80s had travelled most of the world, keeping a diary in words and pictures at all times. Illustrated by his own drawings and paintings as well as his wife's photographs, this is a gorgeous and highly informative volume for the conservationist (Scott was a founder and Chairman of the World Wildlife Fund (International)) and held office with several similar organisations. Covers (blue cloth with gilt titles to spine) are immaculate. DJ (now in protective sleeve) is not price-clipped, but has very slight edgewear and soiling. Textblock is immaculate except pages 190-191 where leather bookmark left mark (bookmark is laid in).
