203pp - This extremely scarce title is undated, but the dedication is dated 1789. This is volume one of two. Printed on a very fine, pale blue laid paper. Pasquin/Williams (1761-1818) was a satirist and member of the Della Cruscan school of sentimental poetry. He was also apparently a bit of a scoundrel who lost a libel action he'd brought in England. So ex-patriated himself to the American colonies, where, amongst other things, he went to work writing for "The Federalist" journal. Covers (full calf leather with gilt rules to front and rear boards and ornately decorated and titled spine) is edgeworn and rubbed. The front board is detached, but present. Decorated EPs. Inked owner's name to blank prelim, otherwise immaculate.
