(6), 655pp plus erratum - 1st Ed. This is a beautifully preserved copy of an extremely scarce title. Covers (half calf with red marbled boards with gilt titles to one of the six panels to the spine. Other panels and bands have gilt motif) have joints which are just beginning to show slight cracking and generally very little edgewear except by looking at the edges straight on. EPS are matching red marbled effect to that of the front and rear boards. Textblock is immaculate except for laid in page noted below and slight foxing throughout. A large and heavy volume which may require additional shipping cost. Read on for more information about the book and/or author. This is the type of Latin dictionary I'd have loved to own as a kid taking Latin in school, but alas not only are the words in Latin, so are the definitions. What appears to be the title page of A Collection of Old English Printers' Marks, Rebuses, Devices, Etc by Joseph Ames is tipped in on the blank page facing this book's title page.
