224pp inc index and glossary - 1st Ed. I guess I'm enough of a foody and an aesthete that I have a difficult time understanding cookery books which, as this one does, lack any illustrations (other than on the DJ). Just as with cooking and with eating, food has not only to be smelt and tasted and touched, but also seen to be thoroughly appreciated. Why anyone would publish a cookbook without any illustrations just puzzles me totally. But there you go. This one, third in a series of four, was intended "for all those occasions when you don't want to serve the traditional dinner meal". Covers (grey cloth with gilt titles to spine) are immaculate. Text block is immaculate except for some soiling of page edges. DJ (now in protective sleeve) is edgeworn and creased.
