16pp - One of the very collectable and scarce "Take Home Books" series from the 1950s and '60s. 1st ed. Day believed that fo several years prior to his writing this booklet, three features of the British economy bothered British citizens. Firstly a slow rate of economic growth. Secondly, the economy during that period moving "forward by fits and starts". And finally, that inflation had continued. Here he says all three problems were interconnected and attempts to propose remedies. The author was a reader in economics at the London School of Economics since 1948 and had been a temporary Economic Adviser to the Treasury and an editor of the National Institute of Economic and Social Resarch's Economic Review . He continued writing about economic issues through the 1990s.
