16pp - One of the very collectable "Take Home Books" series from the 1950s and '60s. 1st ed. So just how do you know a Juvenile Delinquent when you spot him on the street? Back in the '60s it was simply a matter of asking "does he have a dirty face with beady eyes? Is he dressed in less than the best? Is he just lolling about? Is there a group of other kids of similar description hanging about with him?" Michael De-la-Noy Walker was born in 1934, in Yorkshire, he died in 2002. Unhappy at school, he ran away at the age of 13 and entered National Service in 1952. At the age of 20 he joined the Bedfordshire Times as a reporter. In 1958, he moved to the Brighton and Hove Herald as a reporter and feature writer. His journalistic career continued throughout his life. Some of his many books include: Young Once Only about boys on probation, Elgar the Man, a biography of the composer, and Acting as Friends: The Story of the Samaritans.
