704pp - Part of the Odhams Fifty series. Undated, but the British Library says 1937. This title includes short stories by Alexander Woolcott, Andrew Lang, Mabel Smyth, Sir Algernon E. Aspinall, J. G. Lockhart, Daniel Defoe, Oscar Cook, Harold Dearden, and 17 b&w, full-page illustrations.
Red leatherette binding is blind-stamped with rules and the the image of something strange, which I can't figure out, to the front board and spine with gilt title to spine. Some edgewear, soiling and scuffing to covers. Light soiling to page edges. Split at front and rear hinges.
A large and heavy volume which may require additional shipping cost.

476 pp inc frontispiece portrait of the author and other illustrations by Gaisford - Includes an Introduction by Frederick Brereton. The book was printed and bound by the Aylesbury publishers/printers, Hazell, Watson & Viney Ltd. The covers (black faux-leather with gilt scroll-work design to front and spine and gilt tiles to banded spine) are immaculate, except that the backstrip appears to have had a knife taken to the entire length of its front joint. Ribbon bookmark is bound in, Text block (with decorated EPS) is clean and tight except the foredge of many pages was badly cut.

378pp inc 20 engravings by C Heath - "A verbatim reprint of Stothard's edition of 1820, with reproductions of the 20 engravings." Book (red leather with embossed gilt title and vignette of Crusoe and "his man Friday" on front and embossed gilt title and vignette of Crusoe alone on spine) is in Good condition with some discolouration of spine, soiling and very slight edgewear. Inside pages are untrimmed, edges are soiled, front cover starting to separate from book at hinge, some soiling and foxing throughout.
