About 500 pages (average 28pp per issue) of Railway information, news, history and adventure from one of the industry's golden eras, the mid 1960s through the mid 1970s. Articles included range from "Steam in South Korea" to "Expedition East" (a rail expedition into Eastern Europe), and from a "Report on World Transport Exhibition, Munich" to "Rails Around Izmir & Istanbul". Included is Robert Sparks Publishing "Railway Literature" 16-page catalogue No 1, 1987.
European Railways (which was issued quarterly) folded in the late 1980s with a "track record in the sense that it was a successful subscription-only title for more than thirty years, its long run ending with No 149 in the late 1980s." It has, however recently been re-launched by Atlantic Publishers with No 150, thus being very likely to "get into the record books as representing the longest gap between magazine issues in history". The issues in this collection are generally in VG or better condition with no serious defects just the expected ageing and very slight soiling.
