250pp inc b&w frontis and one other b&w plate plus 32-page publisher's catalogue. - Undated but 1926 according to the British Library. More fun at school for the flapper era girls. Wynne was the pseudonym of Mabel Winifred Knowles (1875 - 1949), who also wrote as "Lester Lurgan". Born in London, Knowles was home-schooled. Rather prolific, she "wrote 211 books between 1899 and 1954 and many short stories", many of which were about girl's schools adventures. Titles included: Avice's Champion, Angela Goes to School and Two and a Chum. Covers (blue cloth with black titles to front and spine and black image of girl playing to front) are soiled and bumped. Textblock prelims are foxed, but generally clean and tight.
