Textblock is tanned and has a bit of foxing and pencilled lines in the margins marking out a few paragraphs and an inked prior owner's name to FEP.

92pp - This is the first edition, first state (covers are 7.5" and textblock is 7.25" tall). A collection of the poet's works. Covers (blue cloth with blind rules to front and rear boards and gilt titles to spine) are a bit edgeworn and there's a light scratch at the centre of the front and rear boards. Textblock is clean and tight except for prior owner's very neatly inked name and date and smaller inked notations to FPDP, some foxing and tanning throughout. .

784pp - A comprehensive collection of the poet's works. Includes: "Salt-Water Ballads", Ballads and Poems, "Lyrics from "The Tragedy of Pompey the Great", "The Everlasting Mercy" and many more. Covers (blue cloth with gilt titles to front boards and damaged spine) are slightly edgeworn and there's a 1-inch wide, 1/2-inch deed piece cut out of the top of the slightly sunned spine. Textblock is clean and tight except for prize certificate plate tipped in to FEP. Certificate is from Malvern Girls College and was awarded to Dorothy Seward (circa 1918, d. Sep 1980) as the result of a "verse reading competition, senior division, April, 1927". Seward was a poet and author of "The Hidden Stream, a verse play based on the lives of Saints Serf and Mungo. She was also wife of the Professor of Botany at Glasgow University. Purchased at auction, Fellows & Sons, Birmingham, UK, 27 Sept, 2005.
