xxvii, 319pp inc Introduction by Richard Le Gallienne - A volume of the publisher's "The World Library" series. Undated but appears to be late 19th Century with its art nouveau decor. de Quincey (1785 - 1859) was an English essayist, best known for his Confessions of an English Opium-Eater. Collection of De Quincey's writings about opium including "Confessions of an Opium Eater," "Notes from the Pocket Book of a Late Opium-Eater" and "Letters to a Young Man". Covers (green cloth with blind-stamped art nouveau decor to front board and faded gilt titles to spine) have a bit of fading, edgewear, esp to head of spine and light bumping to corners. Textblock is clean and tight, except for inked ownership signatures to FEP, half-title, and title pages, one such on each of those pages..
