It's a geography textbook "designed solely for my own junior pupils" but which received further distribution and was eventually (in this and possibly other editions) reprinted. In the preface Butler signs himself as being in "Silvester Row, Grove Place, Hackney". This is the same William Butler who wrote and self-published "An Introduction to Arithmetic: Designed for the Use of Young Ladies" in various editions through the late 18th and early 19th Centuries.

Covers (olive green buckram with black buckram and four gilt rules to spine) is edgeworn and frayed, esp to top of spine. Textblock is a bit soiled but tight and a bookplate was apparently removed from the FPDP.
