Unpaginated but about 130. Diary for the year 1996, Features colour illustrations of that clumsy pair of detectives, Thompson and Thompson from the comic strip about the intrepid boy reporter, TinTin. TinTin was created by Belgian artist Hergé, the pen name of Georges Remi (1907 - 1983). Although dated 1996, if you wait till 2024 you can actually use it since that year's calendar is identical to 1996's. Includes a full-page colour illustration at the beginning of each month's calendars (one page monthly and followed by week by week calendar for each month, and small colour illutrations to many of the pages. All pages free of any writing, marks, blemishes of any kind.

356pp -- A beautiful volume, part of Scott's "The Canterbury Poets" series, of which Skipsey was overall editor. Perfect for the Robbie Burns fan or collector. Undated, but according to National Library of Scotland catalogue it dates from 1885. An inked gift inscription on the half-title verso, dated October 1921 "To Mary Crisp".

Spine and front cover are tan/brown felt and rear cover green felt. Some fraying and tears of edges and fading of colour of cover material otherwise Very Good, with clean, tight, nearly white laid-paper pages, Pages gilt-edged on all three sides. Title "Burns" embossed in gilt on front cover. Title "Poems of Burns embossed in gilt on spine. AEG

Includes biographical profile of Burns, a facsimile of the 1869/70 map outlining the four tours of Scotland Burns took in 1787, a Burns family tree, a Burns chronology. Also includes articles about and extracts from many of his works. All page edges in bright silver gilt, as are the titles and profile of Burns on the fromt board. Ribbon bookmark bound in. All pages free of any writing, marks, blemishes of any kind.

It is Volume II of a two-volume set and includes works by: Mark Akenside, Dr. Anster, Joanna Baillie, Bernard Barton, John Bedlake, Mrs Price Blackwood, Michael Bruce, Robert Burns, Thomas Campbell, Geoffrey Chaucer, William Collins, William Cowper, Jane Gilman, Thomas Gray, Elizabeth Hawkshaw, Thomas K. Hervey, Mary Howitt, H. W. Longfellow, William Julius Mickle, thomas Otway, Alexander Pope, Sir Walter Scott, Charlotte Smith, Edmund Spenser, Maryanne Stoddart, Jeremiah Holme Wiffen, William Wordsworth and hundreds of other poets through to the mid-19th Century.
Covers (brown cloth with blind-stamped titles and motif to front board and faded gilt titles to spine) is edgeworn, soiled and with cross-stiching to each side of the spine in an amateur (but relatively successful) attempt at repair. Textblock is lightly tanned and has minimal foxing. Prelims are missing.
