[viii], xii, 572pp plus 99-page index - Undated but The British Library and the libraries of several UK universities say 1919-1920, originally issued in 40 monthly parts though this is the bound version. Covers (green cloth with blind-stamped title ["Harmsworth's New Atlas of the World"] to front board) are a mess. Backstrip (outer part of the spine on which the title and author would be printed) is missing. Textblock is mostly clean and tight except for pencilled markings, scribbles, writing to front EPs, light foxing throughout and water-stains to borders of some pages not affecting text or maps. Last two leaves of index are severely edgeworn and creased. Half-title page is detached but present. A good reference copy. A large and heavy volume (4.5 Kg before packing) which will require additional shipping cost.

And encyclopaedic overview of the animal world edited by Hammerton with articles by leading writers on natural history. Contains more than 3000 illustrations from photographs and 32 colour plates. Covers (flax-colored cloth with gilt titles to front board and spine and two-colour animal pictures to front board) are edgeworn with some soiling and rubbing and dings to rear board of Vol IV. Marbelled EPs. The fold-out chart/plate in Vol I was bound in upside down and has a couple of folded corners and the fore-edge of the first text page of Vol IV has a 2.5" closed tear "repaired" with a piece of sello-tape, no other defects noted. A large and heavy set (3.5 Kg before packing) which will require additional shipping cost.

Each chapter includes a number of essays by leading experts of the day. Chapters include: history, "The Wonder Cities", "Records of the Tombs", royal palaces, great monuments, "Temples of the Gods", master builders, "Ancient Arts and Crafts", and "The Seven Wonders"

Covers (brown cloth with gilt titles to front boards and spines) have some edgewear and bumped corners with most of the dark brown colour rubbed away to a light brown on both volumes. Vol I has bottom fore-corner of half-title and title pages, not affecting text of images. Vol II has bookworm damage to the lower fore-corner of the prelims through page 691 not affecting text or images, but affecting small amount of border at lower front corners of colour plates at pages 645, 653, and 676. Also some slight evidence of light water damage to bottom page edges, not affecting text. Otherwise both volumes are clean and tight.

A large and heavy set which will require additional shipping cost. All colour plates present and accounted for.
