Covers (green cloth with blind-stamped title ["Harmsworth's New Atlas of the World"] to front board) are a mess. Backstrip (outer part of the spine on which the title and author would be printed) is missing. Textblock is mostly clean and tight except for pencilled markings, scribbles, writing to front EPs, light foxing throughout and water-stains to borders of some pages not affecting text or maps. Last two leaves of index are severely edgeworn and creased. Half-title page is detached but present. A good reference copy. The fold-out chart/plate in Vol I was bound in upside down and has a couple of folded corners and the fore-edge of the first text page of Vol IV has a 2.5" closed tear "repaired" with a piece of sello-tape, no other defects noted.
