256pp - Scottish novelist A. J. (Archibald Joseph) Cronin is likely best remembered as author of The Citadel and The Keys of the Kingdom, both of which were adapted into Movies. His "Dr. Finlay" stories, which were based on characters from his autobiography, Adventures in Two Worlds, became a long-running BBC drama series.
This novel is about the crusading editor of the eponymous Northern Light newspaper in the North of England. His crusade is against a vicious monopoly, with the action taking place in various North East locations around Newcastle.
Standard CBC cover style in soiled grey cloth with gilt titles in a brown oval to the faded spine. Textblock is immaculate, except for slight soiling of page edges.
